The Toronto Resort, Seen from Dundas
This page looks at Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto for readers who know the room on Highway 5. It covers where the resort sits, what it has that Flamboro does not list, and what to carry to the door. A dated note on the labour disruption sits near the end.
Part 1
Worth the Longer Trip from Dundas?
Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto sits on the Woodbine Racetrack site in Toronto. From central Dundas it is 57.2 km north-northeast, measured as a straight line. That is not a road distance, and the guide gives no drive time. Flamboro, on the same measure, is 6.8 km northwest.
The resort opened on June 20, 2023. Its old Casino Woodbine floor now goes by the Grandstand Casino. That floor connects to the newer Expansion Casino. Great Canadian Entertainment runs the resort, as it runs Flamboro, with OLG conducting and managing both.
No street address or opening hours appear on this page. The guide leaves them out on purpose, because the resort's own pages list hours in more than one place and they do not always match. Check the resort's page before setting off, particularly around holidays.
Part 2
Extras Flamboro Does Not List
A hotel is the plainest difference. It opened on August 1, 2023 and has 400 rooms, so a late night need not end on the highway home. The resort also runs a concert venue called The Theatre.
Card players will find a poker room on Level Two of the Grandstand Casino. The loyalty card is Great Canadian Rewards, the same one carried at Flamboro. One card covers both rooms.
Parking is simple on paper. Self-parking is free in an enclosed garage with 3,800 spaces, and there is an outdoor lot as well. Valet costs $20 Monday to Thursday and $30 Friday to Sunday. This guide prints no machine or table counts for either venue.
Part 3
Before Leaving Dundas: Age and ID
Entry is 19+, as at every Ontario casino. Bring valid original government-issued photo ID plus a secondary photo ID. Great Canadian checks ID for anyone who appears under 30, so younger-looking adults should carry both pieces.
Labour news needs a date attached. Great Canadian's update page, last updated October 2, 2026 and read on October 8, 2026, describes a picket line at the resort. Vehicles are let through at least every three minutes, and the hotel, casino and restaurants operate as usual. Unifor reported about 100 security officers locked out from July 23, 2026. Check the operator's update page before the trip, since the situation can change.
